Pastor Jay Celebrates 40 Years

On Sunday, June 8, we helped Pastor Jay celebrate his 40-year journey in ministry. Pastor’s long-time friend Judy Rudolph was on hand to share fun memories of Pastor’s life and present him with a beautiful plaque made my his son-in-son, Nick Leach, listing the places Pastor has served during his forty years in ministry, which began in 1985.

We give thanks and praise to God for these years of faithful service, leadership, and love. “Pastor Jay, your dedication to the call of ministry has been a shining example of what it means to shepherd God’s people with grace, humility and unwavering faith. ” And, to Shannon, his faithful wife for her constant love and support – thank you! LoV is truly blessed.

Dear LoV Church Family,

Shannon and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the cards, kind words, and thoughtful gifts you shared in celebration of my 40 years in ministry—including 22 years as a pastor here. That’s four decades of serving Jesus, and just over two of those trying to figure out where the church coffee filters are stored. (Still haven’t found them, by the way.)

Seriously though—your kindness, encouragement, and generosity are very moving. Ministry has been filled with moments of joy, grace, growth, and seeing The Kingdom grow in the hearts and lives of people. And through it all, God has been faithful and so have you.

Thank you for walking and working alongside us. We are grateful beyond words for your love and partnership in the Gospel. Here’s to the next season—whatever God has in store (as long as it doesn’t involve learning TikTok or Costco wrap sandwiches…).

With gratitude and grace,

Pastor Jay and Shannon
